PHOENIX (AP) — Winter in Phoenix has been looking a lot like summer.

Since February, a heat wave has been breaking records right and left. A daily high temperature record was broken six times last month.

Instead of sitting outside on a balmy day, visitors in town for spring training baseball games are reclining in sweat-drenched clothes.

It will only get hotter before it gets better.

The National Weather Service in Phoenix says the high temperature is expected to reach 90 today, which would surpass the record of 88.

The warm conditions over the past month are thanks to different high pressure systems that have been hovering over the Southwest.

A break is on the way, however. Forecasters say a Pacific storm system is expected to cool things down starting Sunday.
