Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester man avoided serious injuries after his motorcycle was rear-ended north of Rochester Friday. The driver who struck him is still being sought.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s office says 60-year-old Mark Hopke had stopped for traffic on Highway 63 just south of the 75th St roundabout around 4 p.m. when he was hit. He was thrown from the motorcycle by the impact but suffered only minor injuries.

Hopke says the driver of the vehicle then drove off. He was only able to give a vague description of the vehicle, saying it was a red SUV that now has front end damage.

Any witnesses or anyone who may have some information about the incident is asked to contact the sheriff’s office.
