Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - There was a big marijuana bust in Rochester early Friday that began as a routine traffic stop apparently involving a motorist who was high on pot.

A city patrol officer spotted a car facing west in the eastbound lanes of 12th St SE near the Macken Funeral Home around 12:30 a.m. The officer pulled over the driver and smelled marijuana when he rolled down his window.

The officer then searched the vehicle and found 43 pounds of marijuana in the trunk along with $1,500 in cash. Both the driver and passenger were arrested.
