St. Paul, MN (Learfield Wire Services) — At least 34 people were killed due to domestic violence last year in Minnesota.

That’s according to the latest femicide report released today by the Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women (MCBW). Of those 34, 22 were adult women killed by a current or former intimate partner and four were children who were killed alongside their mothers in acts of domestic violence.

The MCBW’s Safia Khan says 60% of the women killed in domestic incidents in 2015 were women of color or Native American.

Over the last five years, over 80% of women killed in Minnesota by homicide have been killed by a current or former intimate partner.
