Mantorville, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department is reporting the arrests of two burglary suspects, but Sheriff Scott Rose says residents need to remain on guard due to a recent rash of break-ins and thefts.

Sheriff Rose says 31-year-old Jesse Corson of Kasson and 23-year-old Austin Bruce of Lake City were arrested on Wednesday after a rural Mantorville resident called 911 and reported interrupting two men in the process of burglarizing the property shortly after 1 AM. The homeowner, who released his dogs to chase off the intruders, was able to provide a good description of their vehicle. It was later stopped by a deputy on a nearby highway, resulting in the discovery of stolen property and a little over 2 grams of methamphetamine.

The Sheriff says both men were arraigned today in Dodge County Court on 3rd-degree burglary and felony drug possession charges.

Despite the arrests, Rose says it’s important for citizens to watch over their property and their neighbors’ property because investigators know the two men were not the only ones actively involved in the break-ins and thefts that have been occurring over the past several weeks.
