Wabasha, MN (KROC AM News) -  It appears it will be at least a few more weeks before the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office can release new information about the recent discovery of a human leg in the Mississippi River.

The leg was found July 14th by a resident who was cleaning a pile of debris 20 feet from shore in the West Newton area, about 10 miles south of Wabasha.

Chief Deputy James Warren says a shoe was still on the foot of the leg. He says no other signs of human remains or related items were located at the site.

Warren says the limb will undergo DNA testing in Texas and results are expected in about three weeks.
