Body camera footage has been released showing a Minneapolis police officer shooting two dogs earlier this month.

2 weeks ago, Jennifer LeMay shared her home surveillance footage on Facebook. The video shows what appears to be a uniformed police officer shooting two dogs in her fenced-in backyard.

Lemay wasn’t even home at the time of the incident. But when her daughters returned home, they accidentally triggered their home security system. Police were notified and sent to check on the home and that’s when tragedy struck.

The union representing the officer contends the first dog was growling at him, but that cannot be verified through the video because no audio was recorded until after the shots were fired.

According to this article from KARE 11, both dogs, Rocko and Ciroc, required surgery.

A GoFundMe page was established to help pay for their medical expenses.
