Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Department has released the names of the three people killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning. A statement says two of the victims, 8-year-old Zachary and 5-year-old Taylor Johnson, were brothers from Red Wing. The third victim, identified by family members as the boy’s grandmother, was 47-year-old Stacy Lande of Hager City, Wisconsin.

All three victims were in a car driven by 50-year-old Robert Welch of Hager City, who caused the deadly collision when he crossed over the centerline while rounding a curve on Goodhue County Road 18 in an area just north of the Treasure Island Casino. A second vehicle, driven by 68-year-old Lynn Rapp of Buffalo Gap South Dakota, was headed in the opposite direction and despite her efforts to avoid the Welch vehicle, her SUV smashed into the passenger side of the car.

Welch was airlifted to St. Marys Hospital with serious injuries, while Rapp was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Red Wing to be treated for what were described as minor injuries.
