ST. CLOUD (WJON/Townsquare Media) – A deputy was shot and killed this (Sunday) morning at St. Cloud Hospital.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says it happened at about 5:15 a.m.

A suspect that was being treated at the hospital is accused of shooting and killing the deputy who had been monitoring the suspect. He was the subject of an investigation outside the St. Cloud area. Responding security officers subdued the suspect. That suspect later died.

The names of the deputy, and the suspect, who were killed have not been released.
The BCA says the incident was confined to the patient’s hospital room. No other hospital patients or personnel were hurt.
