Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -The Rochester City Council will revisit the issue of food trucks at its committee meeting Monday.

The city is considering an ordinance that would spell out its policy concerning food trucks.  It would likely include where the trucks could operate and a franchise or license fee.

A recent city survey found large support for food trucks.

The Council will also discuss a proposed change to the city’s Land Development Manual dealing with informational meetings for neighborhood groups and other citizens.

After the recent withdrawal of a proposed hotel project near St. Mary’s Hospital, City Administrator Steve Kvenvold sent a memo to Mayor Brede and the council.

The memo says it is Kvenvold’s opinion that input from neighborhoods should be considered to be advisory in nature and that only the council and mayor can make formal decisions on projects.

Kvenvold also wants to clarify the roles of the Planning and Zoning Commission and other advisory groups in the development process.
