Zumbrota, MN (KROC AM News) -  The Minnesota State Patrol says two people were killed Friday night in a traffic wreck near Zumbrota involving a car and two semi-trucks.

The Patrol says the car was southbound on Highway 52 around 8:30 when it  went through the median and collided head-on with a semi-truck.The car was then hit by a second semi-truck.

The Patrol says a man and woman in the car were killed.They have been identified as 47 year old Juan P. Martinez of Valrico, Florida and 23 year old Aishia Y. Ruiz of Minneapolis. A Rochester man involved in the wreck - 22 year old Paul A. Martinez -  was injured.

Half an hour later, there was another wreck on Highway 52 about 5 miles south of Cannon Falls.

The State Patrol says a car driven by 54 year old Earl Booth of Minneapolis struck a guardrail and came to a stop.An SUV then collided with the car.

There were two adults and two young children from Zumbrota in the SUV but they were not hurt. Booth suffered non-life threatening injuries.
