Hayfield, MN (KROC AM News) - Dense fog was being reported across much of southeast Minnesota early Tuesday and it may have played a role in a deadly traffic wreck in Dodge County.  

It was reported around 5:30 a.m. on Highway 56 about two miles north of Hayfield.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the driver of a pickup truck was trying to pass another vehicle when it collided head-on with a car. The driver of the car died. Preliminary information indicates the victim was a 66-year-old man from Dodge Center. The pickup  was driven by a 19-year-old man from Hayfield.

About an hour later, there was a wreck on Highway 30 near Olmsted County Rd 20, east of Stewartville that involved two vehicles.
