Wabasha, MN (KROC AM News) - A Red Wing man was killed Tuesday when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car in Wabasha County.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the victim was 48-year-old Daniel Syverson, who died at the scene. The car was driven by 53-year-old Jerome Miller of Lake City, who was not hurt. The deadly wreck happened around 5:45 p.m. on Highway 60 and Wabasha County Rd 3. The State Patrol says alcohol was not involved in the deadly wreck.

Distracted driving is cited as the reason for another crash involving a car and motorcycle in southeast Minnesota.

It happened in La Crescent around noon Tuesday. The State Patrol says 60-year-old Jeffrey Gruber of Maplewood was slowing his motorcycle to make a turn when it was hit from behind by a car. Gruber wasn’t hurt but his wife who was riding with him suffered serious injuries. The driver of the car was 20-year-old Nicole Eidenschink of Kasson. According to the State Patrol report, she told police “she was distracted" and could not brake in time to avoid the rear-end collision.

A La Crosse man was hurt Tuesday night after hitting a deer with his motorcycle in Houston County. The State Patrol says 48-year-old Michael Peterson suffered non-life threatening injuries.
