St Paul, MN (KROC AM News) -  Governor Dayton has released his proposed bonding bill that will be presented to the state legislature when it convenes in March.   Included in the package is more than $20 million for Rochester projects.

It proposes $16 million for projects at RCTC, most of it for the planned rebuilding and renovating of the Memorial and Plaza Halls;  a $5 million contribution to help cover the cost of an expansion of the customs facility at the city airport;  and, $1.6 million to help pay for a renovation project at the local National Guard readiness center.

The package has a pricetag of $1.4 billion and Dayton says if all the projects are approved, they would create nearly 40,000 jobs.

The governor says 35 percent of the projects are in the Twin Cities metro area, 35 percent are located in Greater Minnesota and the remaining 30 percent would have a statewide impact.

“My proposals would put thousands of Minnesotans to work throughout our state,” said Governor Dayton. “This bill will help deliver clean, affordable water to Minnesota communities, and prioritize projects that have been delayed for many years. These projects are essential to improving our state’s infrastructure. I ask the Legislature to join me in working to pass a capital investment bill this session that will support our local economies and create jobs.”
