Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - There will be some extra activity at a Rochester park Thursday.

The city’s East Park was selected for a major upgrade of its basketball courts through a new program offered by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Player Cole Aldrich and team mascot Crunch are among those scheduled to be there for the event that begins around 10:30.

The Timberwolves say local U.S. Bank volunteers, led by Rebuilding Together Twin Cities, helped renovate the courts over this week. After the ceremonial ribbon cutting, Aldrich and assistant coach Ryan Saunders will hold a shoot around with Rochester youth.

East Park is located at 1738 East Center St, near the federal prison.
