Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  - Rochester Police finally caught up with a convicted murderer wanted for a probation violation Friday evening.

Police Captain John Sherwin says a member of the Police Department’s street crimes unit spotted 37-year-old Corey Pendelton riding in a car around 7 p.m. on Friday and a traffic stop was made in the 1200 block of Marion Road southeast. The officers had information that Pendelton might be armed and found him in possession of a handgun.

He previously served a prison sentence in Illinois for a murder conviction and now faces a felony charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

The woman driving the car was also arrested because she was caught possessing a number of prescription pills and synthetic marijuana.
