TORONTO (AP) — Bartolo Colon pitched 6 2/3 innings for his second straight win as the Minnesota Twins beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1 on Friday night.
Joe Mauer had three hits and scored twice as Minnesota snapped a seven-game losing streak north of the border. The Twins had not won in Toronto since June 11, 2014. Justin Smoak hit his 35th homer for Toronto, but the Blue Jays lost for the sixth time in seven games. Smoak finished with three hits and a walk.

Jorge Polanco and Byron Buxton also had three hits. Buxton also made another fantastic outfield catch in the eighth inning that may have saved the game.

The Twins are now 66-62 and have sole possession of the 2nd place Wild Card slot.

The Twins and Jays meet at noon Saturday.  Coverage begins at 11:30 on News-Talk 1340 KROC AM.

You may have noticed the name "Morales" on Colon's jersey.  That's in honor to his late mother, Adriana.
