Mantorville, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Claremont man has been formally charged with stabbing his estranged wife.

49-year-old Jorge Rocha was arraigned Thursday in Dodge County Court on attempted murder, second-degree assault, and terroristic threats charges. His conditional bail was set at $250,000.

Rocha is accused of entering his estranged wife’s apartment in Claremont and stabbing her in the abdomen with a carving knife. The victim told investigators she had been involved in an argument with Rocha earlier in the day after he refused to return the keys to her apartment. Rocha is also accused of threatening the woman’s teenage son with a knife.

A Dodge County Deputy arrested Rocha a short time after the stabbing after he found him in his brother’s nearby apartment.

The 43-year-old victim was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with what was described as serious injuries, but there has been no update on her medical condition.
