Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Although Rochester homebuilders only took out 12 permits for new single family homes in November, 2016 will still go into the books as their busiest year since 2007.

The total number of permits that were taken out through November was 381. More than 30 other single family permits have already been approved and are waiting to be picked up.

The 2016 total will be known next week. The 2007 total was 417.

Another permit for a large multi-family residential project was taken out in November.

The $9.3 million permit is for a 58 unit building that is being constructed near the Fleet Farm store under the name Maine Heights Apartments.

There were two other significant building permits approved during November. One was a $10 million permit for the new customs area at the Rochester Airport. Mayo Clinic took out a $9.8 million permit for work at its Jacobson building.
