Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Twins have traded away a fan favorite.

MLB.com is reporting the Twins have sent All-Star Second Baseman Brian Dozier to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Second Baseman Logan Forsythe. The veteran infielder has been troubled by injuries in recent years and will be joined by minor leaguers Devin Smeltzer and Luke Raley in coming to the Twins organization.

Dozier, who was set to become an attractive free agent, had a .224 batting average for the Twins this season, with 16 home runs and 52 RBI. His best season was last year when he finished the season with a .271 batting average and 34 home runs.

The Twins traded five of the team’s Major League players in the days leading up to today’s non-waiver trade deadline. The others were pitchers Lance Lynn, Ryan Pressly and Zach Duke, along with clubhouse clown Eduardo Escobar.
