Ten years ago Shelly Kuhlman's husband was going through brain tumor treatment at Mayo Clinic here in Rochester.  She met Sue Steinmetz, who was the research coordinator on a trial program they were on and together with a few other ladies decided to try and raise some money to bring awareness and educate people about brain tumors.

What started as a hope for a few hundred dollars has grown since then to bring in over 702-thousand dollars for brain tumor research at Mayo Clinic.

The big fundraiser for the year is this Saturday, October 1st at RCTC.  It's a walk and 5K and 10K run.  Pre-registration begins at 8 a.m. with a start time of 9 a.m.
