BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a Bemidji man with kidnapping a 5-year-old girl who was found in a camper in the northern Minnesota woods last week.

Thirty-two-year-old Jacob Kinn was charged Monday with felony kidnapping.

Kinn was arrested after the girl went missing following a mobile home fire in Bemidji. Fire crews were called early Wednesday and found a woman's body in the debris.

Another woman later arrived and said her daughter had been staying with a family friend in the mobile home. The investigation led authorities to Kinn, who came in for questioning.

Minnesota Public Radio News reports investigators took Kinn's cellphone and found his signal had pinged off a cell tower near Bigfork. Agents drove to the property and found the girl in the camper, restrained with duct tape.
