Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man who traded heroin for a 55-inch TV is headed to prison.

21-year-old Jordan Flugum was given a 53 month prison term today for his second degree manslaughter conviction stemming from a fatal drug overdose in Austin. The rural Austin man was accused of providing a 20-year-old Austin man with the dose of heroin that led to his overdose death in March of last year.

The criminal complaint stated Flugum and another man were able to revive the victim after he initially showed signs of overdosing and Flugum turned down his requests for more of the drug.

The victim ended up at his mother’s house where she found him dead in bed the next day. An autopsy shows the cause of death was “acute heroin and methamphetamine toxicity. “
