Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A jury trial is scheduled to get underway today in Olmsted County Court for a Stewartville man and a Rochester woman charged in connection with a shooting in Rochester last summer that left a man in critical condition.

23-year-old Gerardo Esquivel-Olveda is accused of shooting 23-year-old Kameron Jones in the abdomen during an altercation outside a home along 4th Street Southeast near St. Francis Church on August 15th. He is charged with 2nd-degree attempted murder, 2nd-degree assault, and a drive-by shooting charge. The police reports on the shooting indicated it stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the two men that was connected to a 22-year-old Artisha Blackman, who was later charged with aiding an offender.

An arrest was issued earlier this week for a key witness in the case and court records show it was served yesterday on the alleged victim of the shooting.
