UNDATED (AP) — Xander Bogaerts extended his hitting streak this afternoon, while Matt Harvey rediscovered his command.

Bogaerts has a 23-game hitting streak after going 2-for-4 with a run-scoring double and two RBIs in Boston's 7-2 win at Baltimore. The Red Sox shortstop has continued the streak after teammate Jackie Bradley Jr. saw his 29-game run come to an end.

In New York, Harvey entered 3-7 with a 6.05 ERA before holding the slumping Chicago White Sox to two hits over a season-high seven innings of the Mets' 1-0 shutout at Citi Field. Harvey retired his first 13 hitters after being rocked by Washington in his previous two starts.

Harvey was in danger of getting a no-decision until Neil Walker homered off Jose Quintana, who suffered his fourth straight loss.

The White Sox have dropped seven straight and are 4-15 since a 23-10 start put them atop the American League standings.

MIAMI (AP) — Miami Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan plans to apply to the NFL Wednesday for reinstatement.

The No. 3 overall pick in the 2013 draft had to sit out last season for his latest violation of the league's substance abuse policy. His agent says Jordan hasn't missed or failed any drug tests since the start of the suspension in April 2015 while undergoing them once or twice a week.

Jordan's first suspension was for the first four games in 2014, and two more games were subsequently tacked on because of an additional violation.

UNDATED (AP) — Former Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe has been hired as acting head football coach at Baylor as the school attempts to clean up the program.

It is still unclear how much of the current staff will remain at Baylor for the upcoming season.

The 64-year old Grobe was 77-82 with five bowl game appearances in 13 years with the Demon Deacons. He has been out of coaching since resigning at the end of the 2013 season, his fifth straight losing campaign.

News of the hiring was followed by Ian McCaw's resignation as Baylor athletic director. McCaw has been AD since 2003, hired after a scandal involving the men's basketball program led to the resignation of then-athletic director Tom Stanton.
