Sixers set loss record, Warriors extend their record streak

UNDATED (AP) — The Philadelphia 76ers used to share the NBA record for consecutive losses. They now have the record all to themselves.

The Sixers fell to 0-17 this season and picked up their 27th straight loss since last March, falling 116-114 at Houston. Philly opened the fourth quarter on a 22-6 run to take a 102-97 lead with seven minutes left. But James Harden scored the Rockets' next seven points before Corey Brewer drained three free throws to put Houston ahead to stay.

Harden was outstanding for the Rockets, shooting 6-for-12 from 3-point range and finishing with a season-high 50 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Robert Covington had a team-high 28 points for Philadelphia, which broke the old league mark of 26 straight losses set by the 2010-2011 Cavaliers and matched by the Sixers two seasons ago.

Should the 76ers lose Sunday in Memphis, they will tie the Nets' record for consecutive losses at the start of a season.

On the other side of the sports spectrum are the Golden State Warriors, who extended their NBA-record start to 18 straight wins by outscoring Phoenix 135-116. The Warriors set a league mark with 15 3-pointers in the first half, and broke a franchise mark with 22 treys for the game.

Stephen Curry shot 9-for-16 from beyond the arc and finished with 41 points in just three quarters. Draymond Green had 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in his third career triple-double and second of the season.

In other NBA finals:

— Kawhi Leonard scored 25 points and San Antonio picked up its fourth straight win by topping Denver 91-80.

— Indiana won for the 10th time in 12 games as Paul George poured in 33 points and grabbed eight boards in the Pacers' 104-92 triumph against Chicago.

— Kevin Durant led Oklahoma's 103-87 win over Detroit, delivering 34 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three blocks.

— Jared Sullinger had 18 points and 15 rebounds in just three quarters of Boston's 111-78 laugher against Washington.

— Blake Griffin and J.J. Redick each scored 20 points as the Los Angeles Clippers whipped New Orleans 111-90 to move back to .500.

— Atlanta's Paul Millsap contributed 23 points and 14 boards in a 116-101 win at Memphis.

— Minnesota is 8-8 after Andrew Wiggins provided 22 points and Zack Lavine added 19 and eight rebounds in the Timberwolves' third straight win, 101-91 at Sacramento.

— Charlotte's seven-game home winning streak is over after LeBron James had 25 points and 13 rebounds in Cleveland's 95-90 triumph over the Hornets.

— Gerald Green scored a season-high 25 points and Chris Bosh finished with 20 as Miami beat the Knicks for the second time this week, 97-78 at Madison Square Garden.

— Orlando ripped Milwaukee 114-90 behind Elfrid Payton's 22 points and 10 assists.

Cougars wrap up conference title game spot

UNDATED (AP) — The third-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes football team has completed its first perfect regular season in 93 years.

The Hawkeyes improved to 12-0 with a 28-20 triumph over the Cornhuskers at Nebraska. Jordan Canzeri ran off left tackle two straight times for touchdowns, the first one going 29 yards and the second 68 yards for a 28-17 lead. Canzeri finished with 140 yards on 17 carries for the Hawkeyes, who returned one of Tommy Armstrong's four interceptions for a TD.

Iowa is fourth in the College Football Playoff rankings and likely will earn a berth in the semifinals with a victory in the Big Ten championship game next weekend.

Elsewhere in college football:

— TCU destroyed Baylor's national championship hopes as Trevone Boykin engineered a pair of touchdown drives in overtime to send the 15th-ranked Horned Frogs past the No. 7 Bears 28-21. Boykin ran for the tying touchdown in OT before hitting KaVontae Turpin for an eight-yard score in the second extra period. Boykin threw for 148 yards and two scores to outplay Baylor QB Chris Johnson, who was just 7 of 24 for 62 yards, one TD and one interception.

— Vernon Adams threw for 366 yards and three touchdowns to lead 18th-ranked Oregon's air attack in a 52-42 win against Oregon State. Royce Freeman ran for 167 yards and two touchdowns in the Ducks' sixth straight win, while Bralon Addison scored four TDs.

— Washington is bowl eligible after Myles Gaskin rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-10 rout of No. 20 Washington State. Sidney Jones, Darren Gardenhire and Azeem Victor all returned turnovers for touchdowns in the second half.

— No. 21 Houston has advanced to the first American Athletic Conference title game by beating 16th-ranked Navy 52-31. Greg Ward Jr. was 26 of 35 for 308 yards and three touchdowns through the air, and he also ran for 83 yards and a TD.

— Corey Davis caught two touchdown passes to lead Western Michigan to a 35-30 upset of No. 24 Toledo. The loss cost the 9-2 Rockets the MAC West title and a spot in the league title game.

TOP 25-OKLAHOMA-MAYFIELD

Sooners' Mayfield to play

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says quarterback Baker Mayfield is expected to play Saturday against Oklahoma State after sustaining a concussion a week ago. Oklahoma is third in the CFP rankings and can clinch the Big 12 conference title with a victory over the ninth-ranked Cowboys.

UNDATED (AP) — The top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats remain unbeaten on the college basketball season.

Jamal Murray had 21 points and the Wildcats closed the first half on a 15-0 run in an 84-63 rout of South Florida. Skal Labissiere added 17 points for the 6-0 Wildcats, who led by as many as 31 in the second half.

Kentucky played the second half without starting guard Tyler Ulis, who injured his right elbow while fighting for a loose ball.

In other top-25 action:

— Denzel Valentine scored a career-high 32 points and third-ranked Michigan State advanced to the Wooden Legacy final by downing Boise State 77-67. Valentine hit seven 3-pointers, including five straight that broke open a tight game.

— Jameel McKay scored 23 points, and No. 4 Iowa State advanced to the Emerald Coast Classic final as Jameel McKay dropped in 23 points and Andel Nader added 16 and 10 rebounds in a 99-77 victory over Virginia Tech. Iowa State shot 37 of 64 from the field and made 13 3-pointers.

— Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart each scored 13 points and eighth-ranked Villanova won the NIT Season Tip Off by thumping Georgia Tech 69-52. Kris Jenkins had 12 points and Ryan Arcidiacono added nine as the Wildcats improved to 6-0.

— Eleventh-ranked Arizona was beaten in the Wooden Legacy Tournament. Ben Bentil scored 21 points and Kris Dunn had 19 as Providence beat the Wildcats 69-65 to improve to 6-0.

— No. 14 Cal suffered its second straight loss as Terry Allen had 34 points and 12 rebounds to lead Richmond to a 94-89 victory over the Golden Bears in a Las Vegas Invitational consolation game.

— Kyle Wiltjer scored 17 points and Eric McClellan added 15 to lead No. 10 Gonzaga over 18th-ranked Connecticut 73-70 in the third-place game at the Battle 4 Atlantis. UConn's Rodney Purvis missed a chance to tie the game at the buzzer.

— Quincy Ford capped his 24-point performance by draining a jumper at the buzzer to give Northeastern a 78-77 win over 15th-ranked Miami.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL-WICHITA STATE-GRADY

Grady hospitalized falling fall in game

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Wichita State forward Anton Grady is hospitalized after falling face-first on the court with about three minutes left in Friday's game against Alabama.

Grady was strapped to a backboard and taken off on a stretcher before being transported to a hospital. Coach Gregg Marshall says Grady has feeling in his extremities but can't move.

The school said a CT scan came back negative, and Grady is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam.

NFL-INJURIES

Romo done for the season

UNDATED (AP) — Tony Romo's next pass for the Dallas Cowboys will come in OTA's.

Romo is shelved for the rest of the season after breaking his left collarbone for the second time since September. Romo re-injured the collarbone in the third quarter of the Cowboys' 33-14 loss to Carolina on Thanksgiving Day.

Dallas owner Jerry Jones says Romo will not need surgery.

Elsewhere:

— Unless Case Keenum passes the NFL concussion protocol Saturday, St. Louis will turn to benched starter Nick Foles at quarterback Sunday against Cincinnati. Keenum split practice time Friday with Foles, who was relieved of his duties two weeks ago by coach Jeff Fisher. Keenum had returned to practice on a limited basis Wednesday after missing Tuesday's workout because of a concussion.

— Bills Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kyle Williams will undergo surgery to repair a meniscus injury and miss the rest of the season. He was injured in Week 6 against Cincinnati and has been sidelined since then.

— Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis has not cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and will not play in Sunday's game against Miami.

— Atlanta running back Deovnta Freeman also has not been cleared to play in Sunday's game against Vikings as he continues to recover from a concussion. Kicker Matt Bryant will also miss the game with a quadriceps injury, and receiver Leonard Hankerson is out with a hamstring problem.

— DeMarcus Ware's lower back injury will keep him out of Sunday night's showdown between the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots.

Bruins rally, beat Rangers

UNDATED (AP) — The Boston Bruins are riding a season-high five-game winning streak after handing the Metropolitan Division-leading New York Rangers their second consecutive loss.

Ryan Spooner and David Krejci scored 2:03 apart late in the third period as the Boston Bruins turned a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 over the New York Rangers. Spooner tied it on a power-play goal and Krejci provided the winner on a deflection with 1:43 remaining.

Tuukka Rask stopped 24 shots and Patrice Bergeron and Brett Connolly provided the Bruins' other goals in their third consecutive home win.

Elsewhere on NHL ice:

— Alex Galchenyuk and Sven Andrighetto scored once in regulation and again in the shootout as Montreal got past New Jersey 3-2. The Canadiens top the league with 38 points, four more than the Rangers in the Eastern Conference and two ahead of the Western Conference-leading Dallas Stars.

— Stars forwards Jamie Benn and Jason Spezza scored power-play goals, but Dallas needed Tyler Seguins shootout tally to beat Vancouver 3-2.

— Chicago erased a 2-0 deficit in the last 1:41 of regulation before Artem Anisimov  scored 1:53 into overtime to give the Blackhawks a 3-2 win at Anaheim.

— Columbus beat Pittsburgh 2-1 as Ryan Johansen scored the equalizer midway through the third period before Cam Atkinson ended it 2:42 into OT.

— Dylan Larkin scored a go-ahead goal and set up Niklas Kronwall's game-winner in overtime as Detroit topped Edmonton 4-3.

— Florida and the New York Islanders scored on each of their first four shootout attempts before Aleksander Barkov tallied in the fifth round to give the Panthers a 3-2 victory over the Isles.

— Alex Ovechkin, Jason Chimera and T.J. Oshie scored power-play goals while Washington was building a 4-0 lead in a 4-2 verdict over Tampa Bay.

— Shayne Gostisbehere scored a power-play goal 4:08 into overtime to push Philadelphia past Nashville 3-2, leaving the Predators 1-3-1 on their five-game road trip.

— Winnipeg was a 3-1 winner at Minnesota as Dustin Byfuglien had a goal and an assist in the Jets' first win in seven road games.

— Rookie Jack Eichel's eighth goal of the season was the game-winner in Buffalo's 4-1 decision over Carolina.

KLITSCHKO-FURY-COMPLAINT

Fury could pull out of Klitschko fight due to state of ring

DUESSELDORF, Germany (AP) — Tyson Fury is threatening to pull out of his world heavyweight title fight against Wladimir Klitschko because the canvas in the ring is too soft.

Asif Vali, Fury's agent, tells The Associated Press that the British challenger has made a complaint to the British Boxing Board of Control and the commissioner of Saturday's fight in Duesseldorf, Germany, and says "if it's not resolved, the fight is in serious jeopardy of being off."

Vali says "the foam underlay is too soft. It's five inches thick, which doesn't help a big lad going into a ring. We've never seen canvas like this before. It's too much from a health and safety point of view, because he can easily do his ankle."

Vali says Fury has looked at the canvas and "says it's ridiculous and that he can't fight in a ring like that."

F1-MERCEDES DISPUTE

Mercedes wants F1 ruling on aerodynamic collusion

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Mercedes has demanded clarification from Formula One authorities on rules restricting aerodynamic testing and preventing collusion between rival teams.

Mercedes representatives met stewards on Saturday before qualifying at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and a statement from stewards said they would "endeavor to hand down their decision on the specific matters prior to the start of the race on Sunday."

The legal documents provided to the media made no direct allegation of wrongdoing against any team, but the dispute is believed to relate to the close relationship between Ferrari and the U.S.-based Haas team which will enter F1 next season.

Wind-tunnel usage is restricted to current competitors under F1 rules, and there are concerns that Haas' unrestricted usage of Ferrari's wind tunnel could provide beneficial data for the Italian team.

F1-ABU DHABI GP

Rosberg ahead of Hamilton in final practice at Abu Dhabi GP

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Nico Rosberg set the fastest time in Saturday's final practice session at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, ahead of Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton.

Rosberg's best lap at the Yas Marina circuit was 0.281 of a second faster than Hamilton.

Hamilton has already clinched the drivers' championship, but Rosberg is aiming for a third successive grand prix win.
