MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota associate athletic director Mike Ellis has resigned amid an investigation by the school into unspecified complaints made against him.

Golden Gophers spokesman Chris Werle confirmed Ellis's resignation on Friday. Ellis had been on voluntary leave from the university while the school conducted its investigation.

Ellis worked with Gophers basketball and was brought to Minnesota by former athletic director Norwood Teague, who resigned this summer after being accused of drunkenly harassing two university employees at a school retreat.

It remains unclear as to the nature of the allegations surrounding Ellis. The university said in September that an investigation into sexual harassment and discrimination issues in the school's athletic department included five complaints against Ellis, who has been on paid leave since August.
