Another Big Lottery Ticket Sold in Same Minnesota Town
Carlton, MN (KROC AM News) - You may want to head to northeast Minnesota if you want to buy a Powerball ticket.
For the second time in less than a month, a $1-million Powerball ticket was sold in the small town of Carlton.
A guy by the name of Emil Hakomaki bought the ticket for last Saturday’s drawing at a convenience store. The Hibbing man says he bought just one ticket at a Kwik Trip store.
“My life has always been good, and this will add so much more to it,” Hakomaki said as he claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters in Roseville on June 11. Hakomaki, who works as a field service rep for heavy industrial process equipment, plans to continue playing Powerball. “For 4 bucks a week, I think I can afford it,” he said with a laugh.
A ticket sold at the Minit Mart store in Carlton for the May 19th Powerball drawing also won $1-million but the holder has yet to claim the prize.
So far this year, three $1-million Powerball tickets have been sold in Minnesota.
