The countdown continues at the State Capitol and it looks like some of the omnibus bills will be put on the Governor's desk by the end of the week according to State Representative Nels Pierson.

In a conversation Monday morning on Rochester's Good Morning with Rich Peterson and Kim David, Pierson talked about the process, fairly confident there would be no need for a special session.

Regarding the budget, it's confusing to most people because there are automatic increases every year so when there's talk of cutting the budget, it's more a reduction of  the planned increase...

This year's session is scheduled to end on May 22.  We'll talk with Representative Greg Davids of Preston who heads up the state tax committee this Friday.
