Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The unofficial low temperature at the Rochester Airport Monday morning was the coldest of the winter.

The National Weather Service says the mercury bottomed out at 21-degree below zero at around 8 a.m. The wind chill at the time was in the -30 to -40 degree range. The previous cold reading of the season was 20-degrees below zero on January 11th.

The last time Rochester experienced temperatures colder than -20 was in early March 2014 when the morning low also hit 21 below zero.
