Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The total is sure to go higher, but when the 2018 Rochester Eagles Cancer Telethon signed off the air Sunday afternoon the marathon broadcast on KTTC-TV had brought in almost $900,800 for cancer research.

Dozens of musicians, dancers and other performers from Rochester and other southeastern Minnesota communities braved the cold to provide entertainment to many thousands of people at the Mayo Civic Center and through the television broadcast from 8 p.m. Saturday through 4 p.m. on Sunday.

This is the 64th year for the telethon, which is the longest-running local telethon in the nation. The money raised during the event is dedicated to cancer research projects at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, the University of Minnesota and the Hormel Institute in Austin.
