St Paul, MN (KROC AM News) - Some significant milestones in the planned Discovery Square proposal of the DMC initiative are being planned for next year.

According to an update that will be presented to the DMCC Board Thursday, a feasibility study and project plan for the Discovery Square proposal are expected to be completed by February 1st. A developer for the proposal may be identified by late spring. Efforts will be made during the year to recruit high level bio-med-tech partners for the Discovery Square proposal.

The DMC’s Economic Development Agency will work with Mayo Clinic on the planning process. Mayo announced earlier this year it would take the lead in developing the Discovery Square proposal and is paying $1.5 million for the study.

The Discovery Square district calls for office, laboratory and commercial biobusiness space. It is expected to become one of the largest producers of new jobs.
