Red Wing, MN (KROC AM News) - The man who led officers on a high speed chase early Monday that began in Zumbrota and ended in Rochester has been arraigned.

Two felonies and two other charges have been filed in Goodhue County Court against 30-year-old Ryan Vangness. He has been ordered back to court for an omnibus hearing on April 7. His conditional bail has been set at $50,000.

The chase began around 3 a.m. when an officer tried to stop his vehicle. He drove at speeds of 105 mph as he headed south on Highway 52 to Rochester.  After driving several miles through Rochester he was finally apprehended after his car ran into a telephone pole at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 14th Street NE near Silver Lake.

The criminal complaint says the entire chase covered 30 miles and lasted 35 minutes.

Vangness, who lists a Canton address, has a long criminal history of traffic violations and other crimes, including police chases.

As of Wednesday, he was still being held at the Goodhue County jail.
